Old Forester 100 - The Upside Dram
Back in November, WCWC had the chance to head to the table and select an Old Forester 100 Proof Single Barrel alongside Maddee Yeazle from Brown-Forman and Don from 1010 Washington. When the dust settled and the glasses were empty, one barrel clearly stood above the rest. Our barrel comes from Warehouse L, aged on Floor 3 — a zone known for steadier heat cycling. It sees enough Kentucky summer influence to develop rich, caramelized sugars and solid oak structure, without pushing into over-extraction. At 100 proof, this single barrel showcases Old Forester’s classic profile — rich caramel, toasted oak, dark cherry, and warm baking spice — without overwhelming heat. The proof allows the sweetness and barrel influence to stay in harmony, delivering a pour that’s bold yet approachable.

Heaven Hill 7 - Weekend at Bernheim
Our next single barrel from Heaven Hill is an absolute banger — 7 years old from Floor 4 of the legendary 1K Rickhouse at the Bernheim campus in Louisville. Rickhouse 1K is one of Heaven Hill’s only brick rickhouses, and barrels from the middle floors have a cult following for their balance of sweetness, spice, and depth. Floor 4 sits right in that “sweet spot.” The result is a barrel loaded with classic Heaven Hill character: caramel, toasted oak, warm spice, and a silky finish that drinks well above its age.
